Wes Sorge

I’m a Northeast Iowa native growing up in the Cedar Valley on a dairy farm. I graduated from Janesville High School, Hawkeye Community College (Mechanical Engineering) and Upper Iowa University (Marketing Management). 

I was involved with a family farming operation after graduating from Hawkeye Community College and also started my employment John Deere at the Product Engineering Center. I continue to have farming ties with the family farm. I completed my career at John Deere, retiring in 2015 as a Deere & Company Global IT team leader after 40 year of service. 

Growing up on a dairy farm taught me many values that prepare you for life. The important farm experiences are that hard work, planning, faith, and dedication do yield rewards. My John Deere experience has provided insight into the importance of providing consistent delivery of a quality product and the ongoing service commitment to customers that are key to sustaining long term business. 

Having the opportunity to work at John Deere with the global reach provided me many wonderful opportunities to experience the world. It also gave me insight into the wide range of cultural differences along with government rule and regulation differences. Having been a team leader with team members located across the globe introduced new levels of listening and team building education and experiences. 

I obtained my Real Estate license in 2006 to help my mother-in-law, Marge Grandon, Owner/Broker of Midtown Realty whenever she would be out of town. In 2014 I obtained my Broker license in anticipation of competing my career at John Deere and the opportunity to become fully engaged in real estate sales. All of those earlier life experiences from the dairy farm to John Deere and Midtown Realty become valuable in my efforts to assist Midtown clients in their Real Estate needs.

Robbin Sorge

I’m a Northeast Iowa native growing up in the Cedar Valley on a beef and grain farm. I graduated from Janesville High School and attended Wartburg College for a year before staring employment at Lutheran Mutual in Waverly. 

In 1975 I started working at the John Deere Tractor in Waterloo, Iowa. During my career at John Deere I was deeply involved with the production shop floor processes as a scheduling analyst and later as buyer for the supply management department. Later I took on shop floor supervision for 15 years in various Drive Train departments at Westfield. I will retired from John Deere in May 2016 as the Waterloo Drive Train Wage Administrator.

My John Deere experience has provided insight into the importance of supply and demand and the impact of these demand changes on a company and community for profits and employment. 

I have also been a dedicated parent along with my husband in the raising of our 2 daughters Talere and Kendyl.  As a mother I performed many leader roles over the years as a Brownie/Girl Scout leader and regional Girl Scout cookie distributor.  I was the true “soccer” mom, but not just soccer.  The girls were both involved in many other club and school sports such as gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, track and softball.  So many years of hosting sleep-overs, weekend travel and booster club activities. 

Parenting has been a central activity for the past 23 years and has provided insight into the importance of commitment, consistency and caring that is required to raise highly successful young adults.
I obtained my Real Estate license in 1990 to assist my parents (Mike and Marge Grandon) in their real estate office (Midtown Realty) whenever they would be out of town. 

All of my earlier life experiences from the farm to John Deere and raising a family are valuable in my efforts to assist Midtown Realty clients in their Real Estate needs.

I also served as a member of the Janesville/Bremer county zoning board.
